roles changed: men (external activities) and female (internal activities)

society change:
what roles did the ice play? from people movement.
     -easier to walk across/migrate

     -more exposed land
what does this tells us about artifacts?
harder to find WHY? because they are deep beneath the water

people settled in Easter Island (part of South America)
would it make a difference that Polynesia arrived in America?

modern gather-hunter
2 groups:
-Chumas (Santa Barbara)
-the San (southern Africa)
     -San Jo/'hoansi  (clicking sound)
     -2 specific egalitarian (human characteristics: ego and humility):
            -no leader (communally decision making)
            -marriage (no one has the upper hand)
            -"insulting the meat" (human boastful)
